Beginning Thursday, May 21, at 7:30 a.m., the University of Missouri - Columbia plans to replace switchgears at 411 S. Fifth St. This will result in the closure of the east sidewalk along South Fifth Street between Elm Street and East Stewart Road. The work will also require a lane closure of the northbound lane of South Fifth Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained utilizing flaggers. The work associated with the closures is scheduled to be completed by 12 p.m. the same day, weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the west side of South Fifth Street.
