On Monday, April 20, Columbia police arrested Lacy Jordan Jr., 65, of Columbia after colliding into another vehicle and damaging other vehicles and property in the 1400 block of Boyd Lane. Jordan was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated.
At approximately 9:55 p.m., officers witnessed the suspect’s vehicle speeding and committing lane violations while traveling eastbound on Hanover Boulevard, which prompted officers to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect fled the scene.
CPD pursued the vehicle briefly, but officers terminated the pursuit after witnessing erratic driving of the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was seen driving a white Chevrolet Impala with an adult male passenger.
At approximately 9:58 p.m., a 911 caller reported witnessing a wreck located in the 1400 block of Boyd Lane.
Upon arrival, officers immediately provided aid to Jordan and a passenger identified as Wayne Ronail Freelon, 52, of Columbia. Both were transported to the hospital by EMS, sustaining non-life threatening injuries.
