Columbia Police officers responded to the 900 block of Rollins Road in reference to a reported strong armed robbery that occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Rollins Road at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Friday, April 10. Upon arrival, the victim reported that three subjects demanded the clothing he was wearing and his valuables. One subject brandished a handgun at the victim.
It was also learned that during the robbery the victim was assaulted with the handgun. Officers observed injuries on the victim that were consistent with a hard object being used. The victim was able to flee the area and call 911.
While officers were speaking with the victim, a vehicle passed the location. The victim was able to quickly identify the driver as one of the suspects. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Officers terminated the pursuit after a short distance.
Officers then went to the residence in the 800 block of Rollins Road and made contact with two of the suspects at the residence where the crime occurred. Officers located some articles of clothing that the victim was wearing at the time of the robbery. The suspects were identified as Polly Diane Rymph Southwick, 17, of Columbia, and Devon D. Harmon, 17, of Columbia. Both were arrested for robbery in the 1st degree.
