On Feb. 2, 2020, Columbia Police investigated a shooting, which resulted in one death and one serious injury outside of 19 N. Fifth Street. Following the event, representatives from the business made several statements concerning the actions and conduct of Columbia police officers and command staff during and after the incident.
The Columbia Police Department, in our continuous efforts to be transparent, has met with the representatives of the business in order to establish and improve lines of communication. At this time, videos relating to this critical incident cannot be released under Missouri's Sunshine Law. Only after the investigation has been closed, will the videos be released to the public.
