The City of Columbia Housing Programs Division is pleased to announce a generous gift of $10,000 to the Columbia Community Land Trust for the construction of new, affordable and energy efficient homes at the Cullimore Cottages. The project honors the legacy of Dan Cullimore and his tireless efforts advocating for affordable housing in Columbia. The gift will help build an affordable, owner-occupied home that will serve North Central Columbia residents for decades to come.
The gift was given in the name of David Mars, a long time City employee and advocate for increasing energy efficiency and access to energy efficiency education for low to moderate income households. David’s diligence in providing energy efficiency education for homeowners and renters continues to impact many lives in Columbia today.
The Columbia Community Land Trust exists to create and steward permanently affordable housing in Columbia. Community Land Trusts are growing nationwide as a method of creating and stewarding home ownership for low to moderate income families.
