The officers followed the vehicle to Hinkson Creek Rd., and then to a private drive, north, off Hinkson before Wyatt Lane. Officers identified the suspect as Zachary Bradley, 23, of Columbia.
During the pursuit, the suspect exited the vehicle and continued to flee on foot. CPD was assisted by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, who assisted with the apprehension of the suspect. Bradley was charged with second degree burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree and resisting arrest.
While in custody, CPD learned the suspect’s vehicle was connected to a reported burglary by Hertz Car Rental, located at 1905 Rangeline St. (Case number 2020-000169) on Monday, Jan. 6. The officers also identified a Nissan Sentra fob on the suspect, which is also connected to that case.
Hertz Car Rental identified the Chevrolet Malibu that the suspect was driving, a Silver Nissan Sentra, Hyundai Accent and a 2019 White Jeep Cherokee, Texas plate LTV8616, as the vehicles that were stolen. CPD believes the suspect did not act alone.
This is an active investigation and no further information is available at this time.
