Columbia Police investigate homicide at Welcome Inn, 1612 N. Providence Road, on Dec. 9

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Columbia Police on patrol in the area of the Welcome Inn, 1612 N. Providence Road, observed a running vehicle in the parking lot on Dec. 9 at approximately 11:50 p.m. The officer investigating found an unresponsive male inside the vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel on the scene. The victim has been identified as Marceino Carlous Moore, 36, of Columbia. Next of kin has been notified.

Columbia Police Department detectives and the Forensic Evidence Unit were called to the incident to gather information and process the crime scene for evidence. There is no further information to provide at this time, as this is an active investigation.
