Columbia Police investigate fatal vehicle pedestrian crash on Dec. 6

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Date and Time: Friday, Dec. 6 at 6:54 p.m.

Location: 100 block of South College Avenue (MO-763)

Vehicle, Driver and Pedestrian Information:

Vehicle 1 - 2016 Honda CR-V

Driver 1 - Kathrine E Madigan, 21 Columbia, Missouri, Seat belt - yes, No injuries

Pedestrian 1 - Logan M. Warnecke, 21, Columbia, Missouri, Fatal Injuries

Incident Details: 

Vehicle 1 was traveling north on College Avenue, north of Bass Avenue. Pedestrian 1 was jogging or running across College Avenue from west to east. Vehicle 1 stuck pedestrian 1. Pedestrian 1 was transported to the University of Missouri Hospital with life threatening injuries.  Pedestrian 1 was later pronounced deceased from his injuries. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have contributed to this motor vehicle crash. Next of kin has been notified. This investigation is ongoing
