The fire origin and cause investigation of the explosion and fire that occurred on May 29, 2019, at 2112 Southwood Drive has concluded.
Investigators from the Columbia Fire Department and Columbia Police Department determined the fire was intentionally set by the occupant and the death was ruled a suicide.
The origin of the fire was in the basement. The home was a complete loss estimated at $130,000.
