Columbia Parks and Recreation is planning the first Night of the Living Shred skateboarding competition Saturday, Oct. 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Douglass Skate Park, 400 N. Providence Road.
The free event is for kids ages 13 and up; costumes are encouraged. Competitions will include longest manual, highest ollie, best costume and best trick (for beginning and advanced skaters). Helmets are required for those competing. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Night of the Living Shred will also include time for free skate and candy for event-goers. The event is co-sponsored by Parkside Skate Shop and Parks and Recreation.
