(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial structure fire at 2309 West Broadway, Broadway Apartments, at 3:43pm on Monday, October 21, 2019.
Initial reports indicated a fire on a third floor balcony of apartment 125. First arriving units observed light fire and smoke coming from the balcony of apartment 125. Crews were able to contain the fire to the balcony and quickly extinguish it.
One dog in a crate was removed from the apartment unharmed. There were no other occupants in the apartment.
Fire investigators are on the scene performing a fire origin and cause investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
Eight units from the Columbia Fire Department responded to this call. There were no reported injuries.
