The City of Columbia Public Works Department has moved this year's Snow Palooza open house educational event on Thursday, Oct. 10, to a new location due to rain in the forecast. The event will now be held at the Grissum Building, 1313 Lakeview Ave.
During the morning and early afternoon, classes from several local schools will be attending educational workshops. The general public is invited to attend from 2-4 p.m. This is a chance to see the City's winter weather facilities and equipment up close, learn more about snow fighting operations, and visit with engineers, plow drivers and support personnel. The STEAM Bus, a mobile science, technology, math and engineering (STEM) classroom, will also be on site.
