The City of Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled an informal open house meeting concerning the North William/Hinkson Avenue Calming project. This public interested parties meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center of Benton Elementary School, 1410 Hinkson Ave.
The purpose of this meeting is to present design concepts for using traffic calming devices to lower operating speeds on North William Street from Paris Road to Broadway as well as Hinkson Avenue from Paris Road to Old Highway 63 North. North William Street ranked second on the 2018 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List while Hinkson Avenue ranked third. City engineers will be available to answer questions and listen to public input.
Construction is currently planned for 2020 following the City’s public involvement process.
The estimated investment for the project is $50,000. More information is available online at CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/William-Hinkson-Calming.
