For the first time, Columbia Parks and Recreation is hosting a sensory-friendly version of the popular Tons of Trucks event held in the spring. The new Touch-a-Truck event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Cosmo Park, 1615 Business Loop 70 W.
Touch-a-Truck is designed specifically with sensitive young children and people with autism spectrum disorder in mind. The event was planned to accommodate those who find the noise of Tons of Trucks to be overwhelming. Touch-a-Truck event-goers will be able to climb in and check out their favorite vehicles without the lights, sirens and horns that can be upsetting.
Touch-a-Truck is a free event. Call Columbia Parks and Recreation at 573.874.7460 for more information.
