Columbia Police make two arrests related to shots fired call on Silver Mill Drive on Sept. 29

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police officers responded to a reported shots fired call in the 5300 block of Silver Mill Drive on Sunday, Sept. 29 at approximately 8 p.m.

Officers arrived and began collecting evidence at the scene, which included witness statements, video surveillance and shell casings. No injuries or property damage were reported or discovered during the investigation.

Evidence collected led to the arrest of Daniel Dashawn Ayers 17, of Columbia for assault 4th and unlawful use of a weapon and Le’Andre J. Mitchell, 18, of Columbia, for possession of a stolen firearm.

Information gathered during the investigation led officers to believe that this was not a random incident. This is an ongoing investigation, and there is no further information to release at this time.
