Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 a.m., Metro Concrete, contractor for 501 Cherry St. and 101 S. Fifth St., plans to remove and replace deteriorated concrete sidewalk. This will result in a closure of the sidewalk and four parking spaces on the south side of Cherry Street between South Fourth and South Fifth streets, followed by a closure of the sidewalk on the north side of Cherry Street between South Fifth and South Sixth streets. The work associated with the closure is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 8, weather permitting.
Motorists and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should use the sidewalk on the other side of the street as directed by signage.
