Capital Paving, the City of Columbia's mill and overlay contractor, plans to begin mill and overlay operations on Ballenger Lane from the Mexico Gravel Road roundabout to just north of Ria Street, beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 7 a.m., weather permitting. Paving will include the Ballenger Lane/Mexico Gravel Road roundabout.
This work will result in alternating lane restrictions with flaggers present to maintain two-way traffic. Delays are expected. The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone and use alternate routes if possible.
This work is part of the Ballenger Lane shoulder widening project and the City's pavement management plan. More information is available at CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Ballenger-Improvements and CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/MO2019.
