The City of Columbia Stormwater Utility is holding an interested parties meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room 1C in City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, to discuss the upcoming stormwater project on Quail Drive. Information and diagrams showing the preliminary plans will be available for public review and City staff will be present to answer questions.
In an effort to reduce flooding and more effectively manage the flow of stormwater in this area, the project proposes replacing two stormwater inlets and approximately 580 feet of existing pipe. The plan also includes constructing five new inlets and approximately 240 feet of new pipes. Investment for this project is estimated at $300,000 and will be paid for with the Stormwater Utility - Enterprise Revenue Fund. Construction is anticipated to take place in 2021.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the construction plan and explain any impacts the project could have on residents in the area.
