Cook Concrete, a contractor for the City of Columbia, is scheduled to begin repairing a sidewalk buckle at the southeast corner of Broadway and Waugh Street on Monday, July 29, at 7 a.m., weather permitting. Buckles are typically caused by the expansion of concrete at the joints of a sidewalk due to moisture and extreme heat. The work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, July 30 at 5 p.m., weather permitting. The sidewalk will be closed until the repairs are completed.
Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians should exercise caution in the work zone.
