Cook Concrete, the term and supply contractor for City of Columbia Public Works, plans to complete two separate street repair projects on Forum Boulevard, July 17-24, weather permitting.
Crews plan to begin replacing failing concrete panels in the northbound lane of Forum Boulevard between Club Village Drive and Nifong Boulevard on Wednesday, July 17 at 7 a.m. This work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m., weather permitting. Forum Boulevard will remain open to two-way traffic but there will be a lane shift through the work zone. Minor delays are expected and motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the area.
Cook Concrete plans to begin replacing failing concrete panels on Forum Boulevard on the south side of the Hinkson Creek Bridge on Monday, July 22 at 9 p.m. The project, which is scheduled to be done during the evening hours to reduce the impact on traffic, will require that Forum Boulevard be reduced to one lane during the work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone but delays are expected, so motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes. This work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday, July 24 at 7 a.m., weather permitting.
Message boards will be placed on Forum Boulevard to make motorists aware of the scheduled projects. Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to use extreme caution in the work zone.
