City of Columbia Public Works Street Division crews plan to begin annual chip seal operations on 45 streets from July 8 to 19, weather permitting.
Streets will remain open to two-way traffic and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zones. Minor delays are possible. Street sweepers plan to sweep streets 48 hours after the chip seal has been applied to remove any loose chips and will return throughout the summer as needed. Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users should exercise caution in these areas.
The list of streets to be chip sealed and then swept is available at CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Chip-Seal-2019.
Reports of excess chips on the roadway may be reported to the City’s Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489) or emailed to [email protected].
