(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a swift water rescue at Flat Branch Park at 8:39am on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
Units arrived on the scene approximately five minutes later and observed one subject in the water, under the bridge at Flat Branch Park.
The Fire Department rescue boat and two rescuers were deployed into the creek and rescued the subject in under five minutes. There were no reported injuries.
Seven units from the Columbia Fire Department were dispatched to this call. The Fire Department reminds everyone that heavy rains have created swollen creeks and flooded roadways. Never drive over water covered roads and stay away from bodies of water especially moving water.
