UPDATE at 11:06 p.m. on June 1 - Columbia Police Investigate Two Pedestrians Struck by a Vehicle on June 1

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Update: Katie S. Paul, 25, passed away shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. Next of kin have been notified.

Correction to original release: Beasley and Paul were travelling north on 8th Street crossing Ash Street. 

The incident remains under investigation and no further details are available.

Synopsis:
 
Vehicle 1 was traveling east on Ash Street at Eighth Street. Pedestrian 1 and 2 were walking south across Ash Street on the east side of Eighth Street. Pedestrian 1 and 2 were struck by vehicle 1. Both Pedestrian 1 and 2 were transported by paramedics to University Hospital with life threatening injuries. Drug or alcohol impairment are unknown at this time. Next of kin for both pedestrians have been notified. Investigation into the crash is ongoing.
