Police, community partnership conversation scheduled for May 30

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Police Department invites residents to a community conversation Thursday, May 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Friends Room at the Columbia Public Library, 100 W. Broadway.

The Columbia Police Department cares deeply about the community and the people who choose to live, work, learn and play in Columbia. CPD encourages continued conversations about keeping police officers and residents focused on a partnership for good that will build a solid foundation for relationships now and in the future.

Topics for the conversation will include:
  • How Police and community representatives can have a positive online presence.
  • How to navigate the difference and the overlap between having a personal brand vs. public role/responsibility.
  • The importance of balancing an online presence in a way that reflects cultural competence.
  • Ways to bring about a continued commitment to manifesting police and community relationships that are stronger and more secure for all.
