The City of Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled a second informal open house meeting concerning the William Street Calming Project. This interested parties meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium at Benton STEM Elementary School, 1410 Hinkson Ave.
The meeting is part of the City of Columbia's public involvement process. The purpose of the meeting is to present information and diagrams showing preliminary design concepts and to gather community input concerning the use of traffic calming devices to lower operating speeds on William Street from Broadway to Rollins Street. Comment forms will be available to collect feedback, and City engineering staff will be on hand to answer questions.
Construction of this traffic calming project is currently planned for 2019, subject to the City's public involvement process and City Council approval. More information is available at CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/William-Calming.
