Honoring First Responders - United States Postal Service Commemorative Stamp Ceremony
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Media is invited to a ceremony Honoring First Responders on Monday, March 18 at 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 E Broadway.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) and Mid-west Mailing have invited all first responders in Columbia/Boone County (Law, Fire, EMS, and 911) to attend an unveiling of the Honoring First Responders stamp issued by USPS in late 2018.
Special guests include Dave and Beverly Thomas and Leigh Kottwitz (Britt). Brief remarks will be delivered by Mayor Brian Treece, Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill, and Charles Sciruba, District Manager, Gateway District of the United States Postal Service.
State Representative Chuck Bayse will share a proclamation naming March 18 as First Responder Day.
All first responders will be presented with the commemorative stamp, a special commemorative envelope, and a special stamp cancellation pictorial.
We hope to see you there.
