[Work Extension] Lane restriction on Forum Boulevard, between Forum Katy Parkway and Mills Drive, has been extended until April 5

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

March 29 Update:

The lane restriction associated with the work has been extended until April 5.

Progress Update: Northbound Right Lane on Forum Blvd, just north of Forum Katy Parkway

Flowing water was found under the right of way near the roadbed when repairs began. Columbia Public Works and Columbia Utilities have been working to identify the source of the water and stop the flow of water onto and under the roadway. Water is the leading cause of roadway deterioration, including potholes, particularly during and after periods of extreme heat or cold. This water, as well as rain, has delayed repairing the road but crews currently plan to complete the repairs next week, weather permitting. The lane restriction associated with the work has been extended until April 5. We appreciate everyone's patience.

We appreciate everyone's patience.

March 22 Update: The City of Columbia Public Works Department has extended the lane restriction on Forum Boulevard, just north of Forum Katy Parkway in the northbound lane, through the week of March 18. Pavement repairs will be completed once the water issue has been resolved, weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone.
