City of Columbia hires new treasurer in Finance Department
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The City of Columbia has hired Chelsea Miller to fill the position of treasurer in the Finance Department.
Miller comes to the City with experience in finance and business management and most recently worked as the corporate controller/finance director for Onshore Outsourcing, a large private IT corporation headquartered in Macon, Missouri. Her past work has given her experience with goal setting, staff management and strategic alignment. In addition to her past work, Miller holds a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri.
"The treasurer is responsible for managing the revenue and cash flow of the City, along with overseeing the cashier customer service area. Chelsea's education and experience provide the background necessary for these important responsibilities. We are excited to work with her and the fresh perspective she brings to the position," Interim Finance Director Janet Frazier said.
Miller cites the City’s 2016-2019 Strategic Plan as one of the biggest driving forces in her decision to apply and accept the job with the City.
"One of my goals is to work with my department to truly understand how to positively impact the City’s Strategic Plan so we can all have guiding goals for priorities that are important for the community," Miller said.
Her first day was Monday, Feb. 11; her starting annual salary is set at $75,000.
