The City of Columbia Public Works Department has scheduled an informal open house meeting concerning the Third Avenue Alley Restoration project. This public interested parties meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Centro Latino, 609 N. Garth Ave.
The purpose of this meeting is to present preliminary design concepts for restoring the alley that provides access to homes on Third Avenue. The project includes constructing a 10-foot-wide asphalt pavement within the alley right-of-way of Third Avenue (between Garth and Grand avenues). City engineers will be available to answer questions and listen to public input.
Construction is currently planned for summer 2019, following the City's public involvement process.
The estimated investment for the project is $150,000, funded through the Transportation Sales Tax and the 2015 Capital Improvement Sales Tax. More information is available online at CoMo.gov/PublicWorks/Third-Alley.
