Columbia Parks and Recreation will hold the 47th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Candlelight Walk and Memorial Celebration on Monday, Jan. 21.
The candlelight walk will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Armory Sports Center, 701 E. Ash. The walk will proceed to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 204 E. Ash St., for the memorial celebration at 7 p.m. Participants will celebrate and reflect on the life and contributions of Dr. King. The program’s theme will be "What would Dr. King think of the MeToo Movement?"
The walk and memorial are co-sponsored by the MLK Commission. Both are free and open to the public. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 573.874.7460.
