Columbia Police responded to MidAmerican Title Loans, 1102 Business Loop 70 E., for a reported armed robbery in progress with shots fired at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11.
According to witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, there was one shot fired inside the business. The gunshot caused minor property damage but no injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, thin build, wearing a thin dark colored winter coat and armed with a handgun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen traveling southwest on foot.
