Updated to add age and gender of the individual at 6:14 p.m.
Columbia police were dispatched to a call of shots heard in the 100 block of West Worley Street on Dec. 19 at approximately 3:10 p.m.
When officers arrived, they observed several gun shell casings in the street. During the investigation, a 30 year old male victim with a life threatening gunshot wound was located. Emergency medical services personnel immediately began treatment and transported the victim to the emergency room for further medical treatment.
CPD is still on scene collecting evidence and talking with witnesses to gather information.
