Columbia Police responded to a report of a robbery at First Midwest Bank, 1411 Grindstone Plaza Drive, on Nov. 23 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
An individual entered the bank and gave a note to a bank employee demanding money. After he was given an undisclosed amount of cash he left the bank on foot. An on duty Boone County Sheriff's Deputy was in the area of Nifong Boulevard and Rock Quarry Road and located a person that matched the description of the suspect. After positive identification was made by a witness and evidence from the robbery was found with the individual, the suspect was taken into custody.
