Columbia Police investigate shooting on High Quest Circle, homicide at the Links on Nov. 6

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Shooting on High Quest Circle

Columbia Police responded to a report of a shooting at 2:52 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 near the intersection of High Quest Circle and Derby Ridge Drive. During the investigation, an individual stated he picked up two people to give them a ride. A fight in the vehicle ensued and the driver, who was armed, lost control of his handgun and was shot with it by one of the individuals. The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both suspects, described only as black males, one thin and the other heavy set fled on foot. There is no additional suspect description at this time.

Homicide at The Links

Columbia Police responded to a report of a shooting at 11:32 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 5018 Clark Lane, The Links at Columbia Apartments.  

Officers arrived and found a male deceased due to a gunshot wound behind the apartment building. Another male was located in the immediate area with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. This individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Currently, neither the deceased individual or the injured victim has been identified. Two individuals were taken into custody for questioning at the scene but have not been identified as suspects.

The Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Evidence Team are on the scene conducting the investigation. There is currently no additional information.
