Beginning Monday, Oct. 1, access to the east end of Eastwood Drive from Clark Lane will be closed to replace a culvert pipe and rebuild the entrance into Eastwood Drive. Access to Eastwood Drive from Sylvan Lane will be open to motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation. The east entrance to Eastwood Drive is scheduled to reopen Monday, Oct. 8, weather permitting.
Starting Monday, Oct. 8, access to Sylvan Lane from Clark Lane will be closed to rebuild the entrance of Sylvan Lane. Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation will have access to Sylvan Lane from the east entrance of Eastwood Drive.
This closure will affect Go COMO, Columbia’s public transit service. The 2A and 2B Gold routes, the 3 Brown route and 4 Orange route will detour from Sylvan Lane and turn west on Whitegate Drive then south on Towne Drive to access Clark Lane.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should find alternate routes.
These improvements are part of the Clark Lane Sidewalk Project which began in May. The project added sidewalks along Clark Lane to improve pedestrian safety.
