[Schedule Extension] Lane restrictions on Providence Road extended to Sept. 21

UPDATE DETAILS: Lane restrictions on Providence Road between Blue Ridge Road and Rain Forest Parkway have been extended until Friday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m., weather permitting. Please use caution in the work zone.

Lane restrictions scheduled on Providence Road, Sept. 10-14

Beginning Monday Sept. 10 at 7 a.m., the City of Columbia Public Works Street Division plans to repair/replace sections of concrete that have prematurely deteriorated on Providence Road. 

This will result in lane restrictions on Providence Road between Blue Ridge Road and Rain Forest Parkway. Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m., weather permitting. 

Alternating lanes will be restricted until the work is completed. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone and to find alternate routes.
