(COLUMBIA, MO) - Cook Concrete, a contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works Department, plans to close Walnut Street from Garth Avenue to First Street to through traffic to address pipe drainage issues in the area. The work will include upgrading the sidewalk ramps.
The closure is scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 3 and be completed by Friday, Sept. 7 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists, pedestrians and nonmotorized transportation users should find alternate routes and exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Local business and customer traffic may access the closed section during construction when safe to do so.
