Columbia Parks and Recreation will close Twin Lakes Recreation Area, 2500 Chapel Hill Road, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 to the general public. This includes Little Mates Cove, the dog parks and the County House Trail connector that leads from Chapel Hill to the MKT Trail.
The park will be closed because of the department’s planned glow bike event, Kaleidospoke. More than 300 Kaleidospoke participants, who have paid an entry fee, will be at Twin Lakes Saturday evening. Entertainment and bonfires are planned at the park. Registration for Kaleidospoke closes at noon Friday, Aug. 17.
Twin Lakes will reopen at 6 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.
