Beginning Aug. 27, Rhad Baker Construction plans to begin construction of a sidewalk along the west side of Oakland Gravel between Blue Ridge Road and Edris Road. Lanes in each direction will be narrowed to facilitate construction, but significant delays are not expected. Construction should be completed by early fall 2018, weather permitting.
The investment for this project is estimated at $311,500 funded through the 2015 Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
Motorists and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should find alternate routes when possible.
