(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Tashawn Brown, 17, Kyre Roberts, 17, and two male juveniles were taken into custody following an attempted robbery of a delivery driver.

Columbia Police officers responded to the area of S. Garth Avenue and E. Lathrop Road at 1:43 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, in reference to a personal robbery that had just occurred. Boone County Joint Communications advised officers a Jimmy John’s delivery driver tried to deliver an order and people tried to rob the driver.

The investigation revealed the victim, 32, was delivering an order to a residence in the 600 block of Thilly Avenue. When there was no answer at the residence, the victim returned to the vehicle. The victim was then approached by three male suspects with items covering their faces, one of which was reported to have an item in his hands. The victim put a flashlight in one of the suspect’s face and all three suspects proceeded to flee on foot towards a vehicle where another male suspect was waiting. As the suspects drove off, the victim followed their vehicle. The vehicles came to a dead end and the suspects’ vehicle then backed into the victim’s vehicle, causing damage, before continuing to flee. There were no reported injuries.

At approximately 2:08 a.m., officers observed a vehicle that matched the suspects’ vehicle in the area of Parker Street and Gypsy Moth Drive. A traffic stop was conducted on Northland Drive near Parker Street. Officers detained the four occupants of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers located items consistent with the attempted robbery.
