Columbia Police officers arrested Jack David, 24, of Columbia in reference to the attempted armed robbery on Wednesday, April 11 at 203 Walnut Street, Central Bank of Boone County. The report was initially made at the South Providence Medical Park and prompted an alert from the University of Missouri Police Department.
The investigation began on April 11 at 4:55 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the reported robbery. Through the investigation detectives determined Jack David and another suspect requested the male victim, 17, drive them to the ATM at the business. The victim reported once at the ATM, the second suspect pointed a firearm at him and demanded all the money in the victim’s account.
The victim then drove David and the second suspect to another location. The victim was then able to exit the vehicle. The victim reported David and the second suspect proceeded to steal his vehicle. Officers later located the vehicle in southeast Columbia with significant fire damage.
David was arrested on April 13 at 9:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Tenth Street North for:
- Felony Robbery in the First Degree;
- Felony Kidnapping;
- Felony Knowingly Burning or Exploding;
- Felony Property Damage in the First Degree;
- Misdemeanor Fourth Degree Assault;
- Misdemeanor Tampering in the Second Degree;
- Misdemeanor Stealing.
Bonds are to be set by the Court. The second suspect has not been arrested at this time.
