A female is in stable condition this morning after sustaining life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive.
Columbia Police officers responded to the Woodlake Apartments at 1:15 a.m. today after Boone County Joint Communications received multiple reports of hearing a disturbance followed by gunfire. Upon officers' arrival they located a 31-year-old female who had sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the female being shot and have identified person of interest in the case. The investigation is on-going.
