Arrest made related to the double shooting/homicide at Waffle House

Columbia Police detectives arrested Jaylon Darnell Freelon, 20, of Columbia for tampering with physical evidence in the double shooting/homicide at Waffle House on January 1.

Through investigation, Columbia Police detectives determined Freelon removed a firearm from the scene prior to officers' arrival. The firearm had been brandished during the altercation that occurred at the business. A warrant request was submitted for Freelon.

Detectives with the Street Crimes Unit arrested Freelon on 1/5/17 at 10:39 p.m. in the 5400 block of Baseline Place for the Felony Warrant with a cash-only bond of $100,000.00.
