One person is dead and another person is injured after a double shooting at Waffle House on Vandiver Drive.
Columbia Police officers responded to Waffle House located at 904 Vandiver Drive at 1:49 a.m. after reports of a disturbance. As officers were arriving, Boone County Joint Communication advised officers that victims with gunshot wounds arrived at a local hospital.
The preliminary investigation revealed an altercation occurred at Waffle House during which time at least two shots were fired, striking two male victims. The first victim, 26, received non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim identified as Anthony Desean Warren, 30, of Columbia was pronounced dead at the hospital by medical personnel. Both victims were transported by personal vehicles to the hospital.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division have taken over the investigation. They are actively working to interview witnesses and determine what led up to the altercation and the gunfire. The investigation is on-going.
