Columbia Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Rangeline Street at 7:30 p.m. today in reference to an attempted robbery with a gun.
The preliminary investigation revealed a male victim was outside a residence in the area when he was approached by a male suspect. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from the victim. The suspect fled the area without any property after the victim's dog attacked the suspect. The victim was not injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5'11" tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a hood and jeans. The investigation is on-going.
Citizens are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or persons in the area to law enforcement immediately.
