Columbia Police officers are investigating after a building at Columbia Square Apartments and an air conditioning unit was struck by gunfire today.
Officers responded to the apartment complex located at 1014 Claudell Lane at 2:30 p.m. after Boone County Joint Communications received reports of shots heard in the area. Upon officers' arrival, they located multiple shell casings. One building of the apartment complex and an air conditioning unit were struck by the gunfire. There have been no reported victims at the time of this release. Officers have detained at least one person for questioning. The investigation is on-going.
