Arrest made in shots fired in the 5100 block of Clark Lane

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

On 11/21/17 at 2:43 a.m., detectives arrested Anquan Eugene Glover, age 18, from Columbia, at 5129 Clark Lane for Armed Criminal Action and First Degree Assault x 3.

On 11/21/17 at 1:27 a.m., officers were dispatched to a shots fired report in the 5100 block of Clark Lane.  Witnesses reported a vehicle leaving the scene in the 5100 block of Clark Lane and one subject running away from the area.  One of the vehicles leaving the area was seen pulling into the parking lot of Quick Trip on Clark Lane. Officers stopped that vehicle and observed the vehicle had damage by gunfire.  While officers were talking with the occupants of the vehicle at Quick Trip, the suspect vehicle involved in the shots fired drove by.

Officers performed a traffic stop with that vehicle on Eastwood Drive at Clark Lane. Three adults and two juveniles were detained for the investigation.

Officers at the original scene in the 5100 block of Clark Lane detained Glover and transported him to the Columbia Police Department for investigation. Officers located numerous vehicles not involved with the shots fired that had been damaged by gunfire. Officers located over sixteen casings at the scene.

The investigation revealed Anquan E. Glover was riding in a vehicle with three other adults and two juveniles. The vehicle was traveling in the area of Clark Lane when Glover told the driver of the vehicle to follow another car. This second vehicle belonged to the victims in the shots fired that were located at Quick Trip. After Glover told the driver to follow the victim vehicle, Glover made the statement that the subjects in the vehicle had "snitched" on him.

The driver followed the victim vehicle that was occupied by three people into the Greens apartment complex and parked behind the victim vehicle, blocking them into the parking space.  Glover exited the suspect vehicle and began kicking and hitting the driver's door and window. Glover pulled out a silver handgun and began firing at the victim vehicle before running from the scene. The suspect vehicle and victim vehicle left the scene and were located above.

During a secondary search of the golf course area near the apartment complex a silver handgun was located by officers.

Also arrested from the suspect vehicle was Tavious Avier Grant, age 21, from Columbia, at Eastwood and Clark Lane for Possession of Controlled Substance Misdemeanor and a Felony Warrant for Property Damage in the First Degree with a bond of $4,500.00. Grant was a passenger in the suspect vehicle and he was wearing a backpack at the time he was detained. Inside the backpack, a plastic bag containing approximately 29 grams of marijuana was located.

There were no injuries reported from the shots fired incident.
