INCIDENT DETAILS:

The crash occurred as vehicle 1 was traveling north bound on U.S. 63 near Rt. B in the inside lane. Pedestrian 1 was walking north bound on U.S. 63 near Rt. B. Pedestrian 1 began walking in the roadway and was struck by vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 then left the scene. Pedestrian 1 was pronounced deceased on scene.

 
Vehicle 1 was believed to be an unknown make and model vehicle pulling a white 24-foot camper. Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573-874-7652, or Crimestoppers at 573-875-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous. The investigation is on-going.
