Beginning Monday, Nov. 6, Professional Contractors & Engineers plans to begin construction of a new sidewalk and ADA ramp at the main entrance of the City of Columbia Police Department, weather permitting. This will result in a sidewalk closure and the closure of two parking stalls on the south side of E. Walnut Street (between Sixth and Seventh streets). The work associated with the closure is scheduled to be completed by Monday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians are encouraged to find alternate routes when possible.
