Columbia Police officers were dispatched to 3905 Clark Lane, Casey's Convenience Store, at 8:38 a.m. today in reference to shots heard.
Upon officers' arrival they located multiple shell casings in the area. The preliminary investigation revealed a silver vehicle approached another vehicle in the parking lot of the business. The occupant(s) of the silver vehicle fired rounds at the other vehicle. It is unclear at this time if the occupant(s) of the other vehicle fired back. Both vehicles then fled the area in opposite directions.
Officers observed damage to a plastic piece on a gas pump on the lot, as well as damage to a bystander's vehicle that was parked on the lot at the time of the gunfire. There have been no reported injuries at this time. The investigation is on-going.
If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Columbia Police Department at (573) 874-7652, or call CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous.
